Just weeks into the 2025 baseball season, the Whitby Minor Baseball Association (WMBA) demonstrated the power of mentorship and community spirit. Players and coaches from the 22U Tier 1 team, led by Head Coach Brian Ballentine, hosted two dynamic clinics for House League players aged 8 to 11. They were joined by members of the 22U Tier 2 team, including Coach Zach Richard, who lent their expertise and enthusiasm to the event.

Over 100 young athletes participated, rotating through skill-building stations focused on hitting, fielding, pitching, and base running. The clinics aimed to reinforce the fundamentals of baseball while fostering a love for the game. Many of the junior players leading the sessions have been part of WMBA for over a decade and currently play on collegiate teams across Canada and the U.S. Their return to the league each summer underscores a commitment to giving back to the community that nurtured their development.

Beyond the diamond, the event also made a significant impact off the field. House League families contributed two truckloads of non-perishable food items, which were donated to a local food bank, exemplifying the community's generosity and solidarity.
This initiative highlights WMBA's dedication to fostering not only athletic excellence but also community engagement and leadership among its players.
