4U Blastball Details

An instructional program to teach children the FUNdamentals of baseball. In smaller groups, three teams show up to the same field on game night and rotate through stations: hitting, infield and outfield. A mush ball is used when hitting off the tee and a horn inside first base is used to entice the children to run down and step on the bag – for a sense of accomplishment. In the outfield each team will work on picking up grounders and throwing to their coaches and/or teammates. Each station lasts roughly 15 minutes giving everyone an opportunity to participate in all three each week.

The season begins in the second week of May and ends at the end of July.

Required equipment includes a regulation baseball glove, batting helmet, good running shoes or plastic cleats, a jock or jill strap, and full-length pants (no jeans, tear-aways or shorts; baseball pants or sweatpants are acceptable). Players will be provided a team jersey and a baseball hat.

5U TBall Details

Picking up from where Blastball left off, T-ball introduces a hardball and children learn to start making outs (players declared out do not leave the base). Everyone on each team hits before switching to the infield. Team size is similar to Blastball – providing a better coach to player ratio. Children will also get approximately 30 minutes of practice time before each game and there will only be two teams at the same park on any given night.

6U First Pitch Details

While the tee is still present for anyone needing assistance, players now move to receiving underhand pitches from their coach.  This will also be the first time a player is removed from the base when an out occurs. Team size starts to get a little bigger with players now learning to play in the outfield.

7U Tyke Details

The pitching machine is introduced a full season earlier with this new division.

With the introduction of pitching machines, players will now get a chance to develop their hitting skills in a more advanced format. Coaches can still throw underhand when needed, but the pitching machines will simulate overhand throwing and create regulated speeds for greater accuracy. New rules are introduced at this level expanding the way each player thinks about the game.
