Challenger Baseball

Whitby Minor Baseball Association (WMBA) and Durham Region Challenger Baseball (DRCB) are proud to announce that DRCB will be a Division of WMBA.

Challenger Baseball is an adaptive baseball program, run in partnership with Little League Canada, Baseball Canada and JaysCare, specifically designed to empower children and youth living with physical and/or cognitive disabilities. The program is designed to teach these athletes the core life skills inherent to baseball, including: teamwork, communication, determination, resiliency, inclusion, support and courage.

Challenger Baseball ensures every athlete has the opportunity to play in a fun and safe environment where they learn to become more independent, build confidence, improve their communication skills, and set and achieve their own personal goals.

With the help of “buddies” who are assigned on a one for one basis for each athlete. Games are played in a safe environment on our new accessible diamond where the focus is on having fun instead of keeping score.

Last but not least, the smiles are plentiful #smilesguaranteed. The joy on the face of each participant in Challenger Baseball makes it very clear how much fun they are having.

We are very excited to offer Challenger Baseball to all our young athletes in Durham Region.

For more information or to volunteer to be a Coach or “Buddy” please do not hesitate to contact Lynn at durhamregionchallengerbaseball@gmail.com

We look forward to seeing all of our athletes on the diamonds this season.
